GROWTH GROUPS are an opportunity for you to live life together with your WCAG family, while pursuing Christ and His mission. Here are the opportunities offered weekly at WCAG. Please contact the church office or group leaders if you are interested.
SPRING 2024

SUNDAY
YOUNG ADULT
Leaders: Chris & Andrea Frankenfield
When: Sunday at 9:15 AM
Where: Lower Level Chapel
Description: This group spends time discussing how to live life/approach cultural issues through the lens of a Biblical world view.
THE MESSAGE OF EPHESIANS
Leaders: Colin Sims
Date & Time: Sundays - 9:15 AM
Location: Faith Center Dining Room
Description: We will study the book of Ephesians using a commentary and study guide entitled, “The Message of Ephesians,” by John Stott. To quote the publisher, “John Stott expounds Paul’s theme of uniting all things in Christ by uniting his church and breaking down all that separates us from God, one ethnic group from another, husband from wife, parent from child, master from slave.”
BLOSSOMS
Leaders: Kisha Kader
Date & Time: One Sunday per month, 12:30 PM
Location: Varies
Description: This is a parent-led ministry for mothers and daughters (ages 5-18). We follow the Titus 2 mandate for older women to teach younger women to love the Lord and live by faith.
MERRY WIDOWS OF WCAG
Leaders: Maxine Weir & Donna Molinet
When: 2nd Sunday of the month - 12:00 PM
Where: CLC Center Dining Room
What: Merry Widows is a mission outreach support group to encourage widows. They meet for lunch and a time of fellowship. Social events, speakers, and outreaches are also on their agenda.
VEGETARIAN SUPPER CLUB
Leader: Yvonne Cordell
When: 4th Sunday of the month - 5:00 PM
Where: Faith Center Dining Room
What: Pot blessed dinners with special guest speakers or events to introduce people to a healthy lifestyle through experiencing vegetarian meals with like-minded individuals.
SUNDAY LUNCH BUNCH
Leader: Ken & Loretta Eason and Dennis & Susie Powers
When: 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month - 12:30-2:30 PM
Where: Various Locations (homes, restaurants, & church)
What: This group shares fellowship together over a meal while discussing the weekly Sunday sermon. Meals are a mix of bring your own, potluck, and restaurant meals.
MONDAY
CORDELL STUDY & SMALL GROUP
Leaders: Joseph and Yvonne Cordell
When: Monday – 6:15 PM
Where: The Cordell’s home
What: This group studies a variety of topics and enjoys a potluck dinner together.
SPINNERS OF JOY
Leader: Sandra Butler
When: 2nd Monday of the month - 9:00 AM
Where: Faith Center Dining Room
What: We make tied quilts, stuffed toys, knitted or crocheted hats and scarves for needy children. Materials and instructions provided. Some work at home and donate items. Church members and friends are welcome. Come meet someone new!
SOS PRAYER GROUP
Leader: Lori Cannon
When: Every other Monday - 7:00 PM
Where: Zoom
What: SOS stands for Save Our Sons. This ministry is for moms and grandmothers to pray for their sons and grandsons, ages 18-30.
TUESDAY
MEN'S BREAKFAST & STUDY
Leader: Tom Boltas
When: Tuesday - 6:30 AM
Where: CLC Dining Room
What: This men’s Bible study begins with breakfast, prays for requests, and engages in Bible study. They cover one chapter per week of various books of the Bible.
WEDNESDAY
ONE YEAR BIBLE
Leader: Pastor Eddie Wilson
When: Wednesday - 7:00 PM
Where: Conference Room
Description: Pastor Eddie leads a year-long chronological Bible study, following the Tyndale One Year Chronological Bible. Whether this is your first time working entirely through the Word, or if you’ve been reading cover-to-cover your whole life, the perspective and context of this study will bring you to a new understanding of the power of God’s Word, and the depth of His love for us. Join anything throughout the year!
THURSDAY
WOMEN OF THE WORD (WOW)
Leaders: Maxine Weir
Date & Time: Thursdays, 9:30 AM
Location: CLC Dining Room
Description: WOW is an inter-generational Bible study for women. Their goal is to provide a safe place for women to share from their heart and to find fellowship with other women.
THE MAIN INGREDIENT
Leaders: Julie Green
Date & Time: Alternating Thursdays, 6:00—8:00 PM
Location: WCAG Kitchen
Description: This group aims to provide meals for anyone in need, to be God’s hands to nourish our neighbors. Each gathering involves a time of fellowship and discussion while helping prepare food for someone in our church family or local community.
FRIDAY
FRIDAY NIGHT GAMES
Where: CLC Dining Room
When: 3rd Friday of the month 6:15 PM
This is a gathering of all age groups to play board games, group games and card games. They enjoy a night of fellowship and fun getting to know others within our church. Everyone is welcome.
