GATEWAY HOSPITALITY MINISTRY
FIRST SUNDAY LUNCH
Everyone is asked to participate in First Sunday Lunch by inviting someone you don't know well to lunch. We encourage you to either have lunch out at a local restaurant or invite someone into your home for a meal. This will help us develop a culture of hospitality.
FOOD FOR THE SICK
This group prepares and delivers meals to those who are ill, recently hospitalized, or who have welcomed a newborn to their home. Please contact Joan Newton (joan-n@wcag.org, 314.434.1058 x.1) to help.
FUNERAL MEALS
This group prepares and serves meals to families at the church after a funeral service. To help, contact Joan Newton at joan-n@wcag.org.
FUNERAL PHONE TREE
When someone in the church passes away, emails are sent to the church family to advise them of funeral details. This group makes a phone call to people who do not have email. To help, contact Freida ComptonMandi Will at 314-434-1058 x. 0.
GREETERS
This group greets people at the door whenever services are held at the church. They should be aware of visitors, make them feel welcome, and help them find their way. To help with this ministry, contact Joan Newton (joan-n@wcag.org, 314-434-1058 x.1).
KIDZ COMPUTERIZED CHECK-IN
We have implemented a computerized check-in system for our Kidz Ministries to increase security and accuracy of attendance. We need volunteers to help with this. If you can help on a Sunday morning or Wednesday night, contact Laura Schnitker (laura-s@wcag.org, 314-434-1058 x. 8).
PHONE CONTACT TEAM
If you'd like to be hospitable to newcomers and provide member care over the phone, we'd love for you to be a part of this team. We call to ask if they have questions about WCAG and make them feel welcome. If interested, contact Joan Newton (joan-n@wcag.org, 314-434-1058 x. 1).
USHERS
Ushers hand out bulletins, take offering, help with seating, are able to help with knowledge and information in time of need, and also serve communion. Please contact Joan Newton (joan-n@wcag.org, 314-434-1058 x. 1) for more information.
